What to order:
Order the bifana. It’s one of our favourite bifanas in Lisbon and very similar to the famous one at Solar da Madalena. The pork is tender, flavourful and served in a soft roll that’s perfect for soaking up the juices. Add mustard and a little piri-piri oil if you like some heat.
Why it’s here:
Located in Arroios, this is a proper local institution that’s been serving bifanas for decades. It’s simple and very affordable. While many visitors stick to the city centre, this remains a favourite among locals.
Tip:
Bring cash as it’s cash only. Most people stop by for a quick sandwich and a drink rather than a long meal. If you’re on a mission to find Lisbon’s best bifana, this is one of the spots you shouldn’t miss.
