The sandes de pernil with Serra da Estrela cheese – slow roasted pork stuffed into crusty bread with rich, creamy Portuguese cheese melting through it.
Why it’s here
One of Porto’s most famous sandwich spots and a proper local institution. Simple, no-frills and focused almost entirely on doing one thing extremely well.
Tip
It’s tiny inside and queues are common at lunch (12pm–3pm) and dinner (7.30pm–10pm). Order at the counter and either grab a quick table or take it to go. Best visited slightly outside peak times – weekdays between 3pm and 6pm.
