About 40 minutes north of Lewis Falls sits Old Faithful, Yellowstone’s superstar geyser and for good reason. This famous hot-water cannon reliably blasts boiling water and steam up to 185 feet into the air, putting on a show that draws crowds from all over the world. Erupting roughly every 90 minutes, it’s one of the few natural wonders you can actually plan your day around.
The whole area buzzes with excitement as people gather, cameras ready, waiting for the big moment. The surrounding landscape is packed with other geothermal gems too bubbling pools, steaming vents, and colourful geysers that make the boardwalk feel like a walk through another planet.
You can check the predicted eruption times at the visitor center, and if you’ve got some time to spare, explore the boardwalks to discover even more geysers while you wait. (note it does get busy with crowds waiting for the show so best to get a seat at least 30 minutes before)
