We checked into the Gros Ventre Campground, just a short 20 minute drive from the lively town of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Framed by sweeping views of the Teton Range, it’s the perfect launch point for hiking adventures, wildlife spotting, and sunrise gawking. Each site comes equipped with picnic tables, fire rings, and restrooms—just don’t expect showers, so bring your best “camp hair, don’t care” attitude!
The park staff couldn’t have been friendlier, full of tips, stories, and helpful warnings about the local moose and bears roaming the area. And sure enough, they weren’t kidding. While wandering through the campground, we spotted something moving in the brush behind a few empty sites. We stopped, squinted, and there it was… a Moose! Our very own wildlife encounter, just steps from camp.
The RV fee at this campground was $65 with taxes included. Our site didn’t have power, but generators were allowed during designated hours.
