The German Wine Route is an 85 km scenic stretch that winds through the Palatinate wine region of Rhineland-Palatinate in Germany. Marked by a yellow sign with a stylized bunch of ten grapes, this tourist route was established in 1935 to boost wine sales. It begins at the iconic German Wine Gate (Deutsches Weintor) in Schweigen-Rechtenbach, and ends at the House of the German Wine Route in Bockenheim an der Weinstraße. Along its path, visitors will be treated to gorgeous sunshine, rolling vineyards, and fragrant almond blossoms. Enjoying countless wine festivals such as the Wurstmarkt, featuring 'the world's largest wine barrel', and sampling the local Dubbeglas, a special shape glass used exclusively in the Palatinate region, make this twisty trip through history and nature truly unforgettable!
