Rosstrappe is a stunning 403-metre-high granite crag located in the Harz mountains of central Germany. It may be reached from Thale by road, on foot or via the Rosstrappe Chair Lift which eventually leads to a mountain hotel with an observation terrace. Visitors get the chance to observe the steep Bode Gorge, the Steinerne Kirche ("Stone Church") and the highest peak in the Harz, the Brocken. According to legend, this spot got its name from a white stallion whose hoofmark can still be seen on the rock. With plenty of mythology accompanying the landscape, the Rosstrappe is sure to provide travelers with both breathtaking views and fascinating stories!
