For some of the most rewarding views in the Rogue Valley, head up to the Grizzly Peak Trail. This family-friendly lollipop loop hike, about a 35-minute drive from Ashland, takes you through a beautiful mix of dense forest and areas recovering from a past fire, offering a unique landscape. In early summer, the trail is bursting with wildflowers. The main trail is a moderate 5.3-mile loop with about a 900-foot elevation gain, leading you to absolutely stunning panoramic vistas of the Cascade Mountains, including Mount Shasta and Mount McLoughlin, making the effort well worth it.
