I live in downtown Toronto and have spent most of my life in the city, after immigrating here as a child. With help from my friends, this guide is built around the places Torontonians actually know and love.

When it comes to restaurants and bars, I don’t follow food influencers or media hype. Some recommendations are hole-in-the-walls, others are trendy hotspots, but they are all places locals frequent. Each neighbourhood includes a few hidden gems.

Most of the shops featured are local businesses. There are plenty of recommendations for design and architecture lovers, as well as nice photo spots.
