Tozeur is an oasis on the edge of the Sahara. This small city is a very popular destination for both foreign and local tourists alike, as it serves as a great base for exploring southern Tunisia, including other nearby oases that are 100% worth visiting (more on this in #13). Beyond it simply being a good base, Tozeur has one of the most unique medinas we’ve seen in Tunisia, with a distinctive architectural style featuring geometric decoration. Head to one of the many rooftop cafes in the medina for a relaxing tea.

Tozeur is the perfect place to base yourself to explore the surrounding desert oases and Star Wars filming locations.
