Kameyama-koen Park in Arashiyama is a great spot for visitors to Kyoto, as it offers the perfect opportunity to escape the crowds and enjoy some peace and quiet. The park sits atop a hilltop and provides incredible views of the Hozu-gawa River and the city of Kyoto. Visitors can climb one of the two flights of stone steps which lead up into the park and marvel at the beautiful Japanese macaques that roam the area. For those brave enough, they may even be lucky enough to mingle with some of the monkeys. Cherry blossom season in late March and early April is especially popular, making Kameyama-koen Park the ideal place for a peaceful stroll or picnic.
