What to expect:
If you do it right, you'll have the most breathtaking view you can have in Indonesia – without the crowds. It's absolutely surreal how the sun makes the volcanic landscape glow. It's a real 10/10!
How to get here:
This is perhaps the most frequently asked question we receive on Instagram. Where is this view?
We will explain everything here.
Make sure you stay in Cemerolawang. We stayed in Parama Hotel and it was perfect location-wise.
Best place for sunrise is a litlle bit up Seruni Point. Here: -7.9102647, 112.9506259
Start at 4am:
Because the first part of the route follows a road and we want to save some time and nerves (with the kids) and we organised a motorbike driver for the first part of the route. (But you can also just walk it...)
He will drop you below the Seruni Point, from there you have to walk up to the Seruni Point. It's crowded there, so keep walking (on the right side is a little path) towards King Kong Hill (another crowded viewpoint). And there you can find yourself nice, empty spots beside that path. No crowds, just you and the view!
Walking: 1h
Entrance: -
Tips:
Our motorbike-driver to the Seruni point was Rahim: +62 853-1736-9140
Price for 2 motorbikes at 4am: 150k IDR
Bring warm cloth, because it can get really cold.
