Brakkåfallet is a beautiful waterfall in the middle of the forest, where the water cascades down over several steps of rock before continuing its way through the valley. It’s not as big or powerful as some of the other falls in the area, but it’s a peaceful spot that feels tucked away in nature.
From the parking area, a short walk along a clear trail takes you straight to the waterfall. The path is easy and doesn’t take long, making this a great stop even if you’re short on time. Once you arrive, there are a couple of nice viewpoints where you can watch the water and enjoy the quiet surroundings.
When I visited, we actually waded the stream until we reached the waterfall and even took a swim in the pool below it. This made the place feel really special to me. If you want to do the same, make sure you have water shoes, as the stones can be slippery, and only try it when the water level is low and safe. I was here in the middle of a dry summer, so the flow was gentle and the water power much less than usual.
It’s the kind of place where you can just enjoy the view, or make it a bit of an adventure, depending on the season and conditions.
