If you go to Kartchner Caverns State Park, plan ahead: the caverns are only visited on ranger-led tours with a limited number of tickets per day, so book your slot online well before you arrive and show up early. Inside the cave it stays roughly 70°F with very high humidity, paths include stairs and low ceilings, and you must wear closed-toe shoes, follow the guide, and avoid touching formations or using cameras or phones for photography. Expect a well-run visitor center with exhibits and basic amenities, but bring water, sun protection, and a light layer for the short walk from the parking area and any time you spend outside.
