Eyre Square, located in Galway, is a city public park that sits at the heart of the bustling city centre. Originally known as The Green, it was officially presented to the city in 1710 by Mayor Edward Eyre, hence its name. The square underwent various developments over the years and was even renamed "John F. Kennedy Memorial Park" in honor of the U.S. President's visit in 1963. Despite its controversial redevelopment in the 2000s, Eyre Square remains a popular spot for locals and visitors alike, with statues, attractions, and a rich history to explore. This is also the site of the Galway Christmas market, St. Patrick's Day parade, and many other festivals!
