Nothing too fancy here, but I’ve added this campsite to the list because it has showers and laundry facilities which is always a win at a freedom camping spot. The facilities are clean, and in my opinion, a great addition by the council. They’re not free, though, showers cost $3.00 and the washing machine is $4.00 per use.

One important thing to note is that you’ll need a KiwiCash card to access these facilities. You can grab one for $5 from a local convenience store, and once you have it, you can use it at similar sites across both the North and South Islands. Just top it up through the app whenever you need to add funds, it’s super handy to have if you're travelling around NZ.
