Coromandel Forest Park is an incredible destination packed with stunning trails, scenic lookouts, and river swim spots. This is where you’ll find the iconic Kauaeranga Kauri Trail (Pinnacles Walk), along with plenty of other adventures.

If you’re camping while traveling through New Zealand, it’s worth knowing that there are multiple DOC campsites along the road in this park. They’re all $15 per person per night, but if you have a DOC campsite pass, they’re free. These campsites are super basic, with only drop toilets and no water, so make sure to bring plenty of supplies. I personally stayed at DOC Hotoritori Campsite and loved it.
