After being closed for a while and recently re-opening with a fancy new staircase and boardwalk, Fairy Falls is the perfect stop in Waitakere Ranges Regional Park, just a short drive from Auckland. It’s a popular spot to stretch your legs and escape the city.
Fairy Falls has a series of pools on different levels, each flowing into each other creating a super unique waterfall. The trail to get down to the falls is 3.2km and takes about 1 hour to complete. Keep in mind that this is an out-and-back trail, so as you head down all those steps to reach the falls, you’ll need to walk back up, so save some energy and bring some water with you.  Once you reach the pools, feel free to splash around in the one at the base of the falls and soak in nature's beauty.
