Moana Roa Reserve is an awesome freedom camping spot for self contained vehicles, I stayed here the night before my Hobbiton Movie Set Tour, and if you’re in the area, I’d totally recommend it. It’s a peaceful place to park up with beautiful lake views, clean toilets, and plenty of space to chill. The only downside is a bit of noise from the nearby highway, but honestly, it didn’t bother me too much.

Oh, and if you’re due for a shower (because let’s be real, we all know how gold a free hot shower is), head to Cambridge—it’s only 15 minutes away. Just pop “Cambridge Public Toilets (free toilets and free shower)” into Google Maps, and you’re sorted!
