As you travel to the west coast of Auckland or prepare to say goodbye, be sure to stop by Huia Point Lookout.

It’s a scenic little spot with 300-degree views of the bay and surrounding hills. It's a quick stop that won’t take much time, so you may as well swing by, enjoy a snack or picnic, and soak it all in. Interestingly, it used to be a WWII military outpost to defend against a Japanese invasion.

To reach the lookout, simply follow the gravel road for a few hundred meters, and it will be right in front of the car park, no need to walk anywhere! It’s definitely a peaceful escape from the craziness of Auckland city life.
