Cala Portixol is one of those magical coves near Jávea where nature, beauty and peace come together. Nestled between Cap Prim and Cap Negre, this pebble and rocky beach is framed by medium cliffs and dense Mediterranean vegetation. The water here is intense turquoise, clear and inviting, especially for snorkeling, kayaking and exploring the underwater world. What makes Portixol extra special are the little white fisherman’s houses with their blue doors ('barracas'), the island just off the coast and a relaxed beach bar (Cala Clemence) to grab a drink or small bite. Since the beach is somewhat secluded and protected (the island helps calm the waves), it never feels too crowded, (even on warmer days), though parking is limited and best to arrive early.
If you want somewhere that feels natural, Instagram-worthy without losing its authenticity, Cala Portixol delivers a perfect day by the sea.
