If you wander through the old town of Altea up Calle Santa Bárbara, you'll spot Casa Cervantes, a house that really stands out with its whitewashed elegance and architectural flair. It was built in the early 20th century by Francesc Martínez i Martínez, a man deeply connected to Altea’s culture and folklore, and a lover of Cervantes. The façade is symmetrical, three floors tall and sprinkled with neomudéjar details, arched windows and a tympanum with a medallion bearing the name “CERVANTES”

Although you can’t enter (it’s private), the exterior alone is worth a detour, especially when the golden sun hits the white walls and the street is quiet. It’s a spot that feels both elegant and intimate, a great photo moment, a reminder that Altea isn’t just sea views, it’s style, history and artistic soul.
