Located behind the main hall of Zenkoji Temple, this museum serves both as a memorial hall and an impressive introduction to Buddhist history and culture. It honors those who have passed, particularly war victims, but what truly makes it stand out is the collection of centuries-old statues, paintings, and artifacts—all displayed without glass, allowing you to view them up close in a way that's rare in Japan.

Each piece includes clear explanations in English, making the experience even more meaningful. It’s spacious, quiet, and easily one of the most memorable museums I’ve visited.

You’ll need to purchase a separate ticket to enter, unless you already bought the combined ticket (Zenkoji Temple + museum)—in that case, just show your ticket at the entrance.
Note: Photography is not allowed inside the museum and memorial hall
