One of my favorite hot springs in Nagano. The water here flows straight from the source, completely natural, and is rich in minerals, especially iron, which gives that distinct brown color.
When you enter, the first thing you’ll see on the left is a vending machine where you buy your entry ticket (and a towel ticket if you need one). Then bring the tickets to the reception counter and they’ll show you the way to the Onsen.
The lockers in changing room require a 100-yen coin (you use it to lock the door, and when you unlock it later, you get the coin back) or you can use one of the available baskets nearby. It’s a common system in onsens across Japan.
After your soak, you can stop by the on-site restaurant. It’s ONLY open at lunchtime. The meals are simple and really satisfying 🥰
