The Whanganui River is a remote and stunning River in New Zealand's Whanganui National Park, known for its challenging rapids and breathtaking scenery. Hikers can paddle down the river in canoes passing by lush cliffs, cascading waterfalls, and open fields. The river is particularly special and was even granted legal personhood in 2017 after years of activism. It's a wild ride with some whitewater action but definitely worth the adventure for those seeking a unique outdoor experience.

The Whanganui River Paddle is considered as one of New Zealand’s Great Walks and is an official part of the Te Araroa Trail.
