After finishing the Longwood Forest Track muddy TA hikers now finally make their way down to the coast and beaches at the bottom of New Zealand.

Colac Bay is a small township on the trail that you will walk through. Whilst there isn’t a lot to see you can stop in at the Colac Bay Tavern and Camping Ground for a meal before hitting the sand. If you don’t wish to continue any further for the day camping is also possible here for the night.

Colac Bay is otherwise know for its relaxed surfing and fishing atmosphere and is a nice welcome back to the coast.
