Riverton / Aparima is a small coastal town located on the southeastern shorelines of the Jacobs River Estuary. It's known for its fishing industry, beautiful beaches, and historic buildings. With a mix of farming, fishing, and tourism, Riverton has a friendly and laid back vibe welcoming TA hikers.

Camping here is at the Riverton Holiday Park and Camping Ground and resupply is possible in town at Fresh Choice - keep in mind it is only a days walk from here to Invercargill, then a further day down to Bluff so you really only need to carry some snacks and a good trail lunch from this point.
