Levin is a town NOT on the Te Araroa Trail but may be used for resupply if necessary.

After completing the Palmerston North to Poads Road section of TA if you think you do not have the appropriate supplies left to complete the Tararua Ranges it is possible to hitchhike to Levin to resupply. This would be your last point before entering the Ranges and is not a particularly busy road.

The Tararua Ranges are prone to severe weather conditions with heavy rains and gale force winds. If this is the case hikers may need to put safety first and wait out the weather in town.
