Mount Rintoul at 1,761m is truely the peak of the Richmond Ranges.

This is the most technically challenging section of the range with loose rock, steep climbs and rough terrain that should ideally only be attempted in good weather. Much of the trail is unformed but marked by poles for hikers to follow.
