Everyone knows Seixal Beach – black sand, epic mountain backdrop, early-morning photographers everywhere. But just above it is a secret spot almost nobody visits: a quiet grassy cliff with wooden benches, Atlantic views for miles, and even a small corner where the owner leaves wine for guests (donation-based).

It’s the perfect escape after a swim – ten minutes up the road, suddenly you’re out of the bustle, sitting with a drink, watching waves smash against the north coast cliffs. Easily one of the most photogenic corners of Madeira, especially at golden hour.

• Best light is early morning or sunset – fewer people and dramatic colors.

• No café here – grab snacks or coffee in Seixal before you go.
