Paúl do Mar – Surf Village & Sunset Vibes
Paúl do Mar is one of those places where Madeira slows down. Tucked between towering cliffs and the Atlantic on the southwest coast, this tiny fishing village has become a favorite for surfers, sunset chasers, and anyone looking for that laid-back vibe you won’t find in Funchal.
The promenade here runs right along the ocean – waves crash against the walls, fishermen mend nets outside their doors, and kids dive off the pier. At golden hour, the whole place glows. It’s my go-to spot for an easy evening walk, poncha in hand, after exploring the west coast.
