Guindaste is one of my favorite quick stops on the north coast – a dramatic cliff-edge platform with uninterrupted views of the ocean and mountains. Waves crash hundreds of meters below, and on clear days you see all the way to Ponta de São Lourenço.

“Guindaste” means “crane” – the rock formation here resembles the long neck of a crane bird. It’s become a favorite photo spot for local drone pilots thanks to its sheer drop and sweeping coastal views.
