Miradouro do Porto da Cruz (North Coast)
Quick coastal stop with views over Porto da Cruz and Eagle Rock
This viewpoint is a perfect stop on any north coast drive – panoramic views of Porto da Cruz village, the surf beach, and the jagged Eagle Rock formation. It’s right by the roadside, making it an easy photo break.
I always stop here on my way to or from the Larano coastal trail – two minutes, one perfect shot, and you’re back on the road.

For those who want more context
Porto da Cruz is known for its surf-friendly black sand beaches, sugarcane history, and dramatic cliffs. The viewpoint sits on the old road toward Faial, overlooking some of Madeira’s most rugged coastline.
This viewpoint is the perfect intro to the charm of the north coast. You can also include it in a "North Coast Road Trip", a suggestion in the link below.
