Built in 1931, the Alaska State Capitol is right downtown Juneau and is just a few blocks from the main shopping & restaurant area. During their opening hours from Monday to Friday (June to September only) 2:30-5:00pm you can take a free self-guided tour, otherwise you can always admire the outside. If you're able to go inside, make sure to check out both wings, there's lots of little details in the decor like gold seals, sculptures, and photographs. If you're lucky, you might even be able to head inside the legislative chambers,
