Located inside the Skilak Wildlife Recreation Area, this 1.6 mile out & back trail gains just over 500 feet of elevation - meaning it's pretty steep. I recommend always bringing bear spray on any hike in Alaska, but the views at the top of Skilak Lake are absolutely incredible and definitely worth it! Parking is limited, so you might have to carpool.
