Escape to one of Switzerland’s most charming mountain hideaways. The Refuge de Frience combines a cosy alpine restaurant with beautiful wooden cabins, making it the perfect place to disconnect and enjoy the mountains in every season.
In summer, it’s an excellent base for exploring the stunning hiking trails around Villars and Les Diablerets. Whether you’re looking for an easy family walk or a full-day adventure, you’ll find plenty of options right from the refuge.
In winter, the atmosphere becomes even more magical. The refuge is located directly beside a free ski slope and a sledging run, making it a fantastic destination for families, couples and anyone looking for a peaceful alpine escape away from the busy ski resorts.
Inside, you’ll find a warm and welcoming atmosphere with a cosy fireplace, traditional wooden décor and delicious Swiss specialties such as fondue and raclette.
💡 Sandra’s Tip: If you have the chance, spend the night in one of the cosy alpine cabins. Waking up surrounded by the mountains is an unforgettable experience. I especially love staying here in winter, when you can step outside and be right next to the free ski slope and sledging run, but it’s also a fantastic base for hiking during the summer months.
