It used to be the dormitory section but now became a popular tourist spot that showcases beautiful Japanese styled architectures. It is of the Chiayi Forest Area under the Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency, Taiwan Soutokufu. Forestry is the most prominent industry of Chiayi, with the forestry dormitories as the witness of the historical meaning of forestry culture and the development of Chiayi.
