Baimiweng Fort, also known as Holland Castle or Gun Emplacement of Fort Holland, is a former fort located in Zhongshan District, Keelung, Taiwan. It has an interesting history, believed to have been constructed during the Dutch Formosa and Spanish Formosa period. The fort was later occupied by the French Third Republic army during the Sino-French War before being remodeled by the Japanese government. Today, it stands as a rectangular-shaped fort with three sections: Barbette, control center, and observation station. In 2016, the Keelung City Government announced plans to restore and preserve this historic site. So, if you're ever in Taiwan, don't forget to check out Baimiweng Fort and immerse yourself in its rich past!
