If you're looking for a wallet friendly cosy cottage in the Peaks then we highly recommend you check this place out. You'll feel a world away from hectic city life in this idyllic spot, with fantastic views across the countryside and the most notable neighbour being the black cat that comes to say hi each morning. Inside, the cottage is basic but comfortable, with a double room and a twin room so sleeping 4 in total. There's a sizeable garden to enjoy in the summer months and for those winter evenings there is a large bath to soak tired legs and an open fire for cosy film nights. The cottage is located just a few minutes drive from the Flash Bar Stores - a fantastic biker cafe which we highly recommend visiting for breakfast if you do stay here.
Things to note:
The stairs in this property are very steep. If you have young children lie we do, this actually isn't an issue as they have installed a stair gate at both ends of the so the kids are completely safe, however if ou have mobility issues this could be a problem.
To the back of the property there looked as though there is a small campsite. Not so close that it would be a nuisance, but if you are looking for total isolation there is a chance people could be staying there. That said we saw no one during our stay. This also could be a great option if you were hoping to holiday with a larger group.
