I (Charlie) stayed here with 3 mates on a boys trip to the New Forest and it ticked all the boxes required. First thing to note is that this is actually a fishing lodge with a great location overlooking a beautiful river and boasting its own doorstep lake. Needless to say, if you're after somewhere for fishing in the New Forest then this is a great option.

We were not fishing however, just on a weekend of eating and walking but this was still perfect, again due to its pretty unique location. Near the town of Fordingbridge in the NW corner of the New Forest, the lodge has two bedrooms each containing 2 single beds, but there is a 'glamping pod' onsite available for an extra fee that sleeps 2, so the site can cater for 6 in total.

The interior has everything you need with a open plan kitchen/living room overlooking the river and with doors out to your own wooden verandah that also borders the little lake. There is also a hot tub that you can access for a fee.

The interior is nothing special but works well and the cabin is basically surrounded by water making it a great place to wake up and indeed base yourself for a weekend of New Forest fun. And for the price point it's a pretty good deal, especially if you're splitting between 4!

We were there across a drizzly January weekend and loved it, so can only image how good it would be in the warmer months.
