Takakkaw Falls, located in Yoho National Park, is a must-see destination for visitors to the Canadian Rockies. As the second-highest waterfall in Canada, standing at 373 meters tall, it offers breathtaking views and easy accessibility via a short hike.

Even though this technically falls within Yoho National Park, it should be on every Banff related itinerary.

If you're lucky, the waterfall mist here often produces a giant rainbow in front of the falls.

Be mindful that you'll have virtually zero cell phone service as you drive towards the falls. It's important to enter directions into your GPS well in advance, and have a feel for the route back since you might not be able to enter subsequent directions. Don't worry - there isn't really anywhere to get lost!
