Calgary International Airport, located just outside the city of Calgary, serves as a major gateway for travelers heading to and from Banff.

This is where most travelers will start and end their trip to Banff. There is a large car rental facility attached to the airport which makes for convenient pick-up and drop-off.

If you plan to skip the rental car, I'd suggest using Banff Airporter to get into town.

Be sure to budget about 2 hours of driving time for your journey to or from Banff. This is especially important when departing Banff since you'll also want to arrive at the airport around 3 hours early for international flights.
