Tent Ridge Horseshoe hike in Kananaskis Country is a favorite among hikers for its stunning views over Spray Lakes Reservoir and Mount Nestor. The 6.3 mile loop trail offers a mix of alpine meadows, larch forests, and narrow ridge walks, with a moderate to hard level of difficulty.
Hikers can expect a bit of scrambling and steep climbs, but the breathtaking 360° views make it all worth it. It's best enjoyed from late June to October, and hikers should be prepared for changing weather conditions and wildlife encounters. I would recommend having bear spray handy for this one, since it's more remote and less traveled than other trails in the area.
Although the distance is modest, there's 2,700+ feet of elevation gain over a relatively short distance which means lots of steep sections of trail.
Consider downloading the trail map in advance and using AllTrails when navigating Tent Ridge.
