The Beehive Circuit in Banff National Park is a must-do for hikers looking for epic views and a moderately challenging hike. The trail departs along the shores of Lake Louise, before turning up into the forest.
Along the way you'll first encounter Mirror Lake, which sits at the base of the Big Beehive. From there you'll eventually encounter Lake Agnes and the Lake Agnes Tea House. This is an amazing area to stop for a quick tea break and snack. Arrive early to beat the tea house lines if possible.
This is one of my all time favorite hikes, not just within Banff. There's so much to see along the way, the Tea House stop is a really unique aspect, plus the views of Lake Louise are out of this world.
Given the number of different hiking circuits that cross through this relatively small area, I suggest downloading AllTrails and using a trail map. Here is a breakdown of the different circuits and trail lengths you can choose:
Lake Agnes Tea House Only (Easy: 4.6 Miles, 1,646 ft of Elevation Gain)
Tea House + Little Beehive Only (Moderate: 5.8 Miles, 2,112 ft of Elevation Gain)
Tea House + Big Beehive Only (Moderate: 6.3 Miles, 2,414 ft of Elevation Gain)
Tea House + Big & Little Beehive Circuit (Hard: 7.7 Miles, 2,664 ft of Elevation Gain)
Tea House + Plain of Six + Beehive Circuit (Hard: 12.3 Miles, 3,700 ft of Elevation Gain)
