I admittedly didn't do much research before tackling the Skyline and Golden Gate Trail loop, and let's just say I was a little surprised by what I signed up for. Toward the top, things got pretty intense and at times it felt like we were climbing giant sheets of rock rather than hiking a trail. That being said, it was completely worth it. We eventually climbed above the clouds, and the views were unlike anything I've experienced in Washington. It honestly ended up being the coolest hike I've done in the state and one I'll probably never forget. Just know what you're getting yourself into before attempting it; especially if you're a little clumsy like me.
