Allmendhubel → Mürren hike. Located in the Bernese Oberland above the Lauterbrunnen Valley.
We did this hike at the beginning of June, and the wildflowers were absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend it.
First, you need to get to Mürren, one of my favourite places. It feels magical.
How to get there:
By car: drive to Stechelberg and park your car here.
Public transport: take the train to Lauterbrunnen, then take the B141 bus to Stechelberg, Schilthornbahn. The bus runs every half hour at :05 and :35, and takes 14 minutes.
🚠 Then take the cable car from Stechelberg to Mürren. This cable car in the Bernese Oberland is recognised as the world’s steepest aerial cableway. It is quite an experience. If you plan to return the same way, buy a return ticket. It costs 23.60 CHF, and discounts apply.
Arrive in Mürren, then walk to the station for Allmendhubel. The funicular ride takes 4 minutes and costs 8 CHF one way. If you have 22 minutes (1.5 km) to spare and it is your first time in Mürren, I highly recommend this route to the Allmendhubel station. You will cross the main street with the famous view of the Eiger.
Once you arrive at the funicular, buy a one-way ticket for 8 CHF (discounts apply). Then walk back down to Mürren. You can do this hike in any season.
