Germany's Romantic Road - Why Not?

The name Romantic Road, or Romantic Route, expresses what many visitors feel when visiting medieval towns or our newest UNESCO World Heritage sites, the castles of Ludwig II, including Neuschwanstein Castle.

From Würzburg to Füssen, the Romantic Road reveals to travelers the richness of Western history, art, and culture, and for 75 years it has been the most sought-after of all tourist routes in Germany and Europe.

This route covers 460 km through nature, culture, history, magnificent scenery, culinary delights, and plenty of romance.

Many visitors think the route is just a road with a direct exit to the many towns, but that's not quite right. It is not a specific road, but rather a sequence of towns, culturally united, that show the world all the natural, cultural, and historical beauties of the region.

The guide shows you the 29 towns, detailed with maps indicating attractions, restaurants, parking if you are driving, and hotels along this beautiful route.
