It is one of the most beautiful and largest botanical gardens in Europe, it was built next to Nymphenburg Palace in an area of 220,000 m², and one of the entrances is located in the castle park itself.
It has a 4,500 m² greenhouse and more than 14,000 plant species, and showcases areas of tropical rainforest, beautiful ornamental gardens, and some bee species.
It is also a place for research and training for students of the University of Munich.
Throughout the year there are special exhibitions, including a beautiful exhibition of various rose species in early July, an impressive exhibition of tropical butterflies from December to early April, and a colorful orchid exhibition in June.

Greenhouses: 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM with last entry at 5:00 PM.
Outdoor Area: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM with last entry at 5:30 PM.
South Entrance: Closes at 5:45 PM.
Winter Hours: October 26th to March 29th
Greenhouses: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM with last entry at 3:30 PM.
Outdoor Area: 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM with last entry at 4:00 PM.

Tickets cost €5.50 for adults, and during the winter, entry to the outdoor area is free.
