Charlottenburg Palace Park (Schlosspark Charlottenburg) is the largest and most important historical garden in Berlin. It is an oasis of tranquility surrounding the majestic Charlottenburg Palace, the former summer residence of the Prussian royalty.
The park was originally designed in the French Baroque style in the late 17th century, but was later transformed into a more natural and romantic English landscape garden.
- Free access: Unlike the palace and other buildings, access to the park is free for all visitors.
- Activities: It is a popular spot for locals and tourists who want to picnic, jog, cycle, or simply stroll and relax. It's common to see couples taking wedding photos there.
- Highlights: In addition to the vast lawns and tree-lined paths, the park features an artificial lake, fountains, and several interesting buildings on its grounds, including the Royal Mausoleum and the Neoclassical Pavilion (Neuer Pavillon).
