It is a charitable hospital, founded in 1576 by order of Prince-Bishop Julius Echter von Mespelbrunn.

There is an original Rococo-style pharmacy built between 1760-1765.

In the 17th century, the hospital received many lands around Würzburg, which it still holds, where wine production is in full swing. Wines can be purchased there, at the Vinothek Weingut Juliusspital.

Step also into the serene atmosphere of St. Kilian, a beautiful church nestled within the historic Julius Spital. As you wander through, you'll be struck by the stunning rock-like architecture and the peaceful ambiance. It's a perfect spot for quiet reflection away from the city's bustle. Don't miss the intricate artwork and the impressive organ, which is said to be the largest in Germany.
