Angela and Marcelo Meyer

This beautiful church is located between Marienplatz and Karlstor. It belongs to the Marian Congregation.

It was built in 1709-10 and still displays original 19th-century frescoes, despite the destruction during the war, and a magnificent oratory with an image of the Guardian Angel, a typical example of the Rococo style.

Father Rupert Mayer, a priest of the church who was totally against the war and Nazism in Munich, is buried there.

The church impresses with its eight enormous chandeliers suspended throughout the nave.

The ceiling is magnificent! Worth a visit!
